Well I was trying to get flow to happen a bit more. I don't think I did a very good job on that lol <___>. That's why I kinda forgot about the blending.


I don't think I have the motivation to do something like a rainbow of sigs. I always do what I want to do. If someone asked me to make something for them it wouldn't turn out good because most of the time it goes against what I'd normally do.

BTW that sig is a gift of someone lol.

Ahh. So what do you all think of my new Ganon sig? I can tell you that I spent an hour trying to get the text right, but nothing looked good, so I threw a dart at my screen and put it where it is. It really kills the flow for me, but hey, it was twelve at night and I was tired.

Let's see...

Well, the flow is somewhat crooked. I mean, Ganon is clearly going right, but the fact that he was put at an odd angle makes the picture look kinda bad. Plus I kinda hate those generic pictures now. I like using other ones, personally, since everyone uses those default pics. Btw the text doesnt completely ruin the flow... it just seems itself out of place.

The text font is good though, I like it. It fits with the sig. The placement is yeah, bad, but it's fine for now. Sometimes I say you just shouldn't add text. I just put a Z in the bottom left of my Sammy sig just so I could copyright it for me Razz

The colors, as usual, go well, but using the exact same color scheme in a row is bland much Razz

I like how you highlighted the triforce of power in the triforce, but you did it kinda weird.

The lighting in this sig is all over the place. The text has good lighting on it, but as for ganny, lord knows. He's bathing in C4Ds and who knows what else. It just looks really odd to me. The c4d works well, but its risky with those because you have no clue how to make the lighting work out. You kinda flunked out on that part.

The border is fine... bland because I hate seeing that border every stinking time :@
But hey, it might as well be deemed a "classic" by now.

The rest of the background also seems a little empty.. the stars work but when I look at the sig, the left side seems all peaceful and stuff with the simple colors and stars... then at exactly the halfway mark you scrunch ganny, orange pink purple and like 2 c4ds.

Makes the balance a little crooked, you know?


But yeah, great sig, I can tell you worked hard on this. Sorry for being harsh.

Since I was telling you the entire time what's wrong, I'll say a couple quick things to help.

#1.) Use a different color scheme Razz

#2.) Most of the stuff you do works great, seems to be slightly skewed on composition. Try to just place things better so the eye isn't overloaded in one certain spot. This is very hard.. I mean, I don't even think I did this all that great on my sig. It's tough, but a good thing to do.

#3.) Use a different border!! :@

#4.) Really, don't use the generic pics. If you remember my Lucas sig, he is on Mr.Saturn's table, his enter animation. I don't think anyone ever used that before Razz And idk it makes it seem less generic. And art is all about being creative, so meh.

#5.) Praise Zephron every da---- I mean, uh... Hi. :3


EDIT: @_@ Holy crap I wrote a lot. *shivers* I like, was bored or something. Yeah. Bored. Let's go with that.

It was the only pic I liked. The banner isn't an overlay border, it is a filter border. But yeah, lighting is really tricky with c4ds. You pretty much nailed what I already knew :p.

But I actually didn't work very hard, I did it in about an hour (due to trying to place that obscene text)

Waaay too monotone. There's red, and red-orange, and yellow.... and that's it.

The text is good (zomg), the background is rather boring, and it's a little harsh to the eye. Really flashy and hard to look at.

Dull yawn border.

Good job on text but the sig is really monotone and there isn't much going on besides scribbley lines.

Hmmmm...I have to agree here. Altho it is obvious that you were going for a monotone style, you went just a TAD overboard with the little plasma things. But the text is really good (and also Halo font).

Looking at Zeph's sig up there, I have to conclude that I have no idea what that thing on the right is and it is also a little monotone, with blue, dark orange, and a very small amount of yellow and red. BUT it works well with the image adding to the atmosphere of suspense. The render is also very hawt.

True, the colors are indeed a little bland for mine, but I was following orders according to the person who wanted it made. The thing to the right is a c4d, called the mechanical heart. You're not supposed to know exactly what it is, which was slightly the point, but I feel the c4d fits really well, and gives it the correct sci-fi look.

Samus is so hawt Razz

Anyway, where'd you get that Halo font anyway Jag?

Uhm... I'm not liking Master Chief split in two then Jags suddenly appearing. You have to make the animation:

a.) Make sense

b.) Be apart of some sort of sig

c.) Make it stay on the last slide for a bit because a fast animation constantly going on doesn't let you really see what's happening.


As for the actual animation, it's smooth, and good. But you might want to erase those pieces of Master chief that the bottom corners after they fade. They still are thar.

Well it was only a test to see if I can actually animate. I might do some very budget animations in the distant future in actual signatures but yea. And that isn't Master Chief. It's one of teh spartans off Halo Wars lolololol.

Flow: When you look at a signature, does it appear to have movement? To the left... to the right..?
Signatures that appear to be without depth, or without movement, seem to be very boring and unappealing to the eye. If you make the signature appear to be moving in a direction, it makes it much more interesting and appealing to look at. Also, never put your focal point (the character, or whatever is the main eyecatcher) in the middle. Ever. It ruins all flow you could ever try.

Examples...? Idk check my old Lucas sig,(left) or my Samus (right...ish.) or even Ender's. That one is pretty good, though I hate that game that character is in.

Your signatures are iffy. Seems like you just put two contrasting images together and added text. Boring.... no effects, no focal point really, no color scheme... its so bland to look at, plus all 3 of them are oddly shaped, and the bottom two are freaking huge. Bleah <_<


I'm almost sick of critiquing so meh about my harsh tone. Plus you havent taken any of my previous advice to heart so I can really only lose patience here.

well, as ive said in the future, i dont have the resources you guys have, i have an old version of photoshop, i dont have cs 3/4 or what ever you have, and plus im still learning. now if i had any idea how to make a focal point on my computer, or any understanding of what flow was, i would take your advice. yet because i dont, i cannot and quite frankly, i dont care about flow. im sure ender could teach me, but im also sure he doesnt rlly have the time for it. so thank you for the criticism Neutral Neutral

You don't "make" a focal point on the computer. There isn't some option or anything. Focal Point is the a special name for whatever is the main part of the sig...

Idk if you don't get my flow description can't really help there. As for actually making it, it just takes some effort and talent, idk <_<

You should be able to make the sig I have on currently with even a very old version of photoshop .__.

But yeah, you're learning, so it's all good. Not saying like you should've been an expert by now or anything.
